#1: Wayne's World

Starting off with what we know. In my opinion, Wayne's World is probably Mike Myers' finest work. Granted, I was 12 at the time, but this movie holds up. It's also the reason I and everyone I in my age/socioeconomic group can sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody pretty much from start to finish.

Quotes you need:
  • "I don't even own a [pronounced AH, like in "flat"] gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack."
  • "Imagine being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware.
    ...Hi. I'm in Delaware."
  • "Whoa. A Fender Stratocaster with triple single coil pickups and a whammy bar." (this one does double duty-- movie knowledge AND guitar knowledge. Boys love it.)

  • Factoid: Terry "I love you, man!" was also on HBO's Oz for years. His character was in a romantic relationship with Chris Meloni (aka SVU's Elliott Stabler). Now try watching Oz without saying "I love you, man!"

Seriously. TRY.

Bust a Nutshell: First Post

What is Bust a Nutshell?

  • An awesome website that will tell you what you need to know, about a whole bunch of stuff, to look smart at parties.
  • Written by two smart and beautiful women whom you will never see.
  • Which is fine because we're completely unattainable and wouldn't give you the time of day anyway.

  • We'll also include one crazy obscure factoid for each item that you can bust out on people! ...neither of us is actually interesting enough to have one for this post, though.

And that's it. Welcome to our site! We're just starting out with this little idea, but we can't wait to become totally rich and famous and quit our soul-sucking day jobs to educate you full-time with our unique combination of snark and knowledge. Doesn't that sound unlike any other blog ever?

Of note: We're not using Wikipedia. This will all be based on resident expertise and intensive field research (which will be especially important for the classics such as Lebowski, Half Baked and Friday). We may also pull in guest experts for certain topics, although between the two of us, we're pretty sure we know everything.

You can email us topics or post them in the comments. We'll be moderating. Anything that says we're pretty automatically gets through. Other than that it's common sense.
